๐Ÿฅง๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ– Shepherd's Pie ๐Ÿฅง๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ–

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

1 lb ground lamb (or be a rebel and use ground beef for cottage pie) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ„

1 tbsp onion powder (because who likes chopping onions?) ๐Ÿง…๐Ÿ’จ

2 carrots, diced (bonus if they’re shaped like little hearts) ๐Ÿฅ•❤️

2 cloves garlic, minced (or however much you need to keep vampires away) ๐Ÿง„๐Ÿฆ‡

1 cup frozen peas (green is good for you, trust us) ๐Ÿƒ

1 tablespoon tomato paste (or tomato glue, as we like to call it) ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿช

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (pronounce it right on the first try, we dare you) ๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿค“

1 cup beef broth (or magic potion) ๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿช„

Salt and pepper to taste (or until you feel like a chef) ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿณ

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme if you want to feel fancy) ⏳๐ŸŒฟ

For the Mashed Potatoes:

2 lbs potatoes, peeled and chopped (let's show those potatoes who’s boss!) ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ”ช

4 tablespoons butter (the more, the merrier) ๐Ÿงˆ๐ŸŽ‰

1/2 cup milk (or cream—let’s get decadent) ๐Ÿฅ›๐Ÿฅ‚

Salt and pepper to taste (taste-testing can be fun) ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿ˜‹

Instructions:

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

Boil those potatoes in salted water until they’re as soft as a cozy pillow (about 15-20 minutes). ๐Ÿ›Œ

Drain and return to the pot. Add butter and milk, then mash until the lumps are gone. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside like a good sidekick. ๐Ÿฝ️

Cook the Filling:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground lamb until it looks like it’s had a nice tan. Drain excess fat if necessary. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ”

Add diced onion and carrots to the skillet. Cook until they soften and start gossiping about the lamb (about 5 minutes). ๐Ÿ—ฃ️๐Ÿ”ช

Stir in minced garlic, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, thyme, salt, and pepper, creating a delicious conspiracy of flavors. ๐Ÿ•ต️‍♂️๐Ÿง„

Simmer for about 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in frozen peas, 'cause it’s about to get green in here. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒ

Assemble the Pie:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Get ready to turn up the heat! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Spread the meat filling evenly in a baking dish. It’s like tucking the lamb in for a nap. ๐Ÿ›Œ๐Ÿ‘

Top with the mashed potatoes, spreading them out evenly. Use a fork to create texture, like making potato art. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿฝ️

Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown, like a perfect tan. ☀️๐Ÿ˜Ž

Serve:

Let it cool for a few minutes before serving, because no one likes a burnt tongue. Enjoy your legendary Shepherd's Pie! ๐Ÿฝ️๐ŸŽ‰

Bon appรฉtit! ๐Ÿฅง๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ–
